Greetings from the UK… I’m currently pursuing a Masters degree in coaching and mentoring practice at Oxford Brookes university, Oxford, UK and my research topic relates to the nature and processes of ‘global mindedness’.

I’m flying over to Washington DC for the upcoming 2011 FIGT conference in March where I am hoping to gather some rich data for my research by bringing a group of globally minded individuals together for a short 45 minute focus group discussion on this topic!

If you are planning to attend the FIGT conference then I would like to extend a warm invitation for you to join me for this short discussion – your views, experience and feedback will provide extremely valuable data for my research.

If you are interested and would like to participate please get in touch so I can send you some more information.

    Many thanks!
    Wendy Wilson

Thanks for posting this, Wendy! How do we engage with you – are you looking at a specific date/time? Do we need to email you our interest?

Yes PLEASE do e mail me your interest! wendywilson40@hotmail.com
Once I have an idea of numbers then the FIGT conference organisers will be able to advise me re the logistics of where and when we can meet on site (most likely a breakfast or tea break meeting on one of the conference days) – I’ll be able to confirm details nearer the time.
The completion of a research study is a requirement for my MA dissertation in coaching and mentoring practice but I’m also hopeful that the outcome of this research study will provide a positive contribution to coach training and practice in raising awareness of why, as we enter the second decade of the new millennium, a more ‘global’ approach to coaching training and practice is relevant in today’s globalized world! As coaching experts in this field your comments are very important to me – your wisdom, insight, experience and advice will contribute rich and relevant data to the study. So please e mail me your interest so I can send you more information and join me in the discussion at FIGT!
        Many thanks.

Note to all – for anyone going to the FIGT conference, I’m in touch with the coordinators and they are going to make a special “Expat Coaches” table for us, I believe on Saturday morning. So, we thought, Wendy, maybe you can come to that, and connect with us all there, and, for everyone else, we can all meet and discuss relevant issues/topics as well!
