Coach of the Month – Dr. Gerrit Pelzer

Name: Dr. Gerrit Pelzer
.
Title: Catalyst for Change
.
Business Name: Vivo Coaching
.
Niche/Specialties:  Helping busy executives unleash their potential while maintaining a healthy balance in their professional and personal lives. Thanks to my senior management experience, I bring to the table practical experience and insights into today’s business challenges. In my corporate life I had a proven record of meeting or exceeding demanding targets, building effective teams and leading people to success.
.
Expat Experience:  Roots in Germany, 12 years senior management experience in Europe & Asia, based in Bangkok (Thailand) since 2004.
.
Languages Spoken: English, German
.
Life Experience: After experiencing much during my 43 years (academic and corporate career, marriage and divorce), I’m doing now what I love: helping others get where they want to be in their lives.
.
Accomplishments: I earned a doctor’s degree in natural sciences from the renowned University of Technology in Aachen, Germany. After advancing in my corporate career to have responsibility for 120 employees and a production volume of 130,000 tons of chemicals for the cosmetics industry, I left behind the security of a well-paid job to live the purposeful life that I dreamed of. I underwent a rigorous training program to become a Certified Professional Coach from the International Coach Academy in Australia. I also earned Associate Certified Coach credentials from the International Coach Federation, and I am currently one of five ICF-certified coaches in Thailand. I am also an accredited and certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Administrator and a certified Tilt 360 Practitioner. But the accomplishments that matter most to me are the successes of my clients.
.
What I Love About Working in This Niche: Seeing my clients realize their full potential and experience success and happiness is the ultimate reward. They turn from good to great leaders, who are enthusiastic about their work and inspire others. Most importantly they achieve success not only in the office but also at home.
.
Coaching Style: Empathetic, focused, listening, asking thoughtful questions. My one-on-one coaching can help you find the best way to get where you want to be. We can work in person, over the phone or via Skype all around the globe.
.
Favorite Coaching Tool: I ask powerful questions to help you get clarity, take action and unleash your potential. More formal, structured tools include the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Tilt 360 Degree Feedback for insights into personality and strengths.
.
Why Clients Choose Me As Their Coach: As one client observed, I am “truly passionate” about each person’s success. Clients come to me when they realize something is missing from their lives and are ready to work to change the situation. In an atmosphere of trust we move toward a solution.
.
A Tip for My Niche: Get off the hamster wheel, focus on what really matters, and live the life you dream of!

    Hi Dr. Gerrit Pelzer,

I am currently in the process of being transfered from Hua Hin, Thailand to Nanjing in China. I have been an expat for 8 years now and found your article whilst checking my facebook. It sounded very clear and interesting and just wanted to know further what you actually can do for expats. Not sure if you can help an individual but I couldn’t help but reply back to what I thought was an interesting article.

    Regards,
    Iulai Sa’u
