Title:  Health and Wellness Coach

Business Name:  Saudade

Client Testimonials:

-Transition Coaching:  Support in creating a mindful adjustment to a new location abroad.
-Health Coaching:  Facilitating lifestyle change for a healthier, fuller life.

Expat Experience:  I spent 10 fabulous years living overseas.  I have lived in Brazil, Senegal, Argentina, and the U.A.E. I recently returned to the U.S and am in the midst of adjusting to living in my own country again.

Languages Spoken:  English

Life Experience:  In my first career I was an elementary teacher and I spent most of my career teaching overseas at international schools. After 14 years of being an elementary teacher, I knew that I wanted to incorporate my other passions of health, wellness, and discovery into my teachings. I went back to school to study how I could be a learning facilitator for others on their path to a healthier, whole-hearted lifestyle. I have expertise in nutrition and a passion for creating practical ways to cook whole foods.  I love cooking because it’s a way for me to create and share with others. In my spare time, you will find me hiking with my two dogs, at yoga class, curled up with a good book, trying a new recipe, crafting, on a run, or basking in the sunshine near water.

-Master of Arts in Health and Wellness Coaching with a concentration in Nutrition from Maryland University of Integrative Health
-Integrated Nutrition Health Coach Certification from Institute for Integrative Nutrition
-Member of International Coaching Federation
-Completed the Austin Marathon
-Completed 10k Open water swim in Brazil

What I Love About Working in This Niche:  From experience, I know that physical change can evoke inner growth and discovery. I love working with expats as the navigate through this exciting experience of living abroad. I find clients who are living overseas are ready to make healthy changes and are eager to explore self-discovery.

Coaching Style:  Coaching in the style that works best for the client.

Favorite Coaching Tool:  Wellness Wheel

Why Clients Choose Me As Their Coach:  At my core, I am nurturer. I find joy in creating a safe space for others to cultivate an awareness about themselves and make healthy lifestyle changes. One of my coaching strengths is organizing information, and helping clients break down goals into manageable tasks they can accomplish. My clients feel heard, supported, and in a partnership with someone who truly wants them to achieve their goals.

A Tip for My Niche:  Whether it’s your fifth move or your first move, moving is still hard! Different locations bring out different challenges, give yourself time and self-compassion as you adjust to a new place. My favorite Portuguese word Saudade gets to the heart of what makes moving so challenging.

Saudade (Brazilian Portuguese: /saw.ˈda.dʒi/), is a melancholic feeling of incompleteness linked by memory to being deprived or separated from someone, someplace, or something, or to the absence of certain desirable experiences or pleasures.
